Independent Aussie Artists in the Spotlight, in Peoples Choice Awards

Four independent Australian artists are among the finalists of this year’s Peoples Choice Awards, a music award event held online each year by CMAA to provide a platform for Christian music.
This year’s finalists in the Australian category include Bella Taylor Smith, Emma Mullings, John Newsome and Matt Lucas, alongside seasoned superstars For King and Country.
John Newsome said he was “super grateful” to be among the finalists, while Matt Lucas said it was an exciting time for him to be back in the game.
“I’m thrilled to be a finalist in the Australian Artist of the Year category,” he said. “It’s been a crazy couple of years writing, recording and releasing music for me, after nearly 15 years away from the music industry. And I feel really blessed to be making music again and very excited to be a finalist in this year’s awards.”
Music fans can vote now for their favourite artists now in both the Australian and International categories. Voting closes on Friday, August 16th.

The winners will be announced as part of the Excellence in Media Awards on the Gold Coast on September 24, 2024.
