Hope Even in a Pandemic
It is difficult to escape the reality we are living in right now. Many of us are quarantined in our homes and everything about life now looks different.
Maybe you’re feeling worried.
Maybe you’re disappointed about cancelled events.
Maybe you’re struggling with fear.
Maybe you’re really missing your friends and your normal life.
These are all fair reactions to what we are dealing with. When the normal and comfortable parts of everyday life have been taken away from us, we are left to see what we truly put our hope and identity in.
For some people, it may be their careers or education. For others, maybe their social status or relationships.
Yet, because of Jesus, we have hope in the eternal. We have something that sustains us in difficult times. When everything feels like it’s falling apart, there is something we can hold onto.
“Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are — yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” — Hebrews 4:14–16
Not only do we have a God who we can totally rely on to satisfy us, but one who has suffered for us and understands our pain! He hears you and all of your thoughts and worries. You can be confident in your relationship with Him. He will never leave you!
If you are searching for purpose in this whole situation, right now is the time to show your friends and family who Jesus is! When they are struggling and feel like they have no hope, share with them that they can know the peace that is found in a constant God during a season of uncertainty.
Don’t forget that God cares for you, your friends, and your family always. You can put your hope in Him today!
