Why Don’t Motorcyclists Nod to Scooters?
By: Sam Chan
When I’m on my motorbike I nod to other motorcyclists and they nod back.
But when I nod to a scooter they don’t nod back. They’re not even looking at me.
But why not?
We’re both on two-wheels. Yes. But they don’t see me as one of them.
If they nod to me, then they’ll also have to nod to bicyclists. And then it will be skateboarders. And then … ew! … hoverboarders.
Where will it end?
As humans there’ll always be an “us”. But there’ll always be a “them”.
We can’t nod to everyone. There are only so many nods that we can give!
But Jesus says anyone can love only those who love them back. What’s so hard about that?!?
Instead Jesus says to love everyone. Especially those who don’t love us back. Our enemies, haters, and persecutors.
All it takes is a nod.
Yes. Even to a hoverboarder.
