Easter Classic: The Jesus Film
Filmed on location in Israel at authentic biblical sites, this inspirational 1979 drama was the first film that aimed to tell the story of the life of Christ in an accurate and entertaining way. Translated into over 1500 languages, The Jesus Film remains one of the most translated and watched movies in history with over 6 billion views in 229 countries. Follow the dramatic journey of Jesus of Nazareth, from his humble beginning as a carpenter to his destiny as the son of God. Based on the Gospel of Luke. Available to watch ON DEMAND on the GOOD app from April 2, The Jesus Film will also air Easter Sunday at 1pm (AEST).
Comedy: Church People
Church People is the story of ‘America’s Youth Pastor’, Guy Sides, who realises he’s stuck in the mega church marketing machine and wants to find his passion again for helping others to discover what faith in Jesus is all about. Church People premieres Easter Saturday night at 8:30pm (AEST) or watch later on the app. Check out the trailer HERE.
Brand New: Testament – The Parables Retold
A feature film retelling and adapting stories from the New Testament into the modern-day. Paul has been arrested, the mysterious Fisherman has been sighted, and the early church is being raided. Luke, Paul’s traveling companion, hides from the dreaded Temple Guard with the early disciples in the hopes of furthering his research into a report on Jesus. But Luke gets more than he bargained for when he begins to hear the great storyteller’s own stories; the parables. Testament premieres Easter Sunday at 8:00pm (AEST), or watch on the GOOD app from April 1.
A Different Perspective: The Young Messiah
The Young Messiah tells a story of Jesus Christ at age seven as he and his family depart Egypt to return home to Nazareth. An inspiring and unique perspective of the young Jesus and His family as they come to a fuller understanding of His divine nature. The Young Messiah is available to watch right now ON DEMAND or watch Good Friday Evening at 8:00pm (AEST).
Family: Lion of Judah
This family friendly animation is a heart-warming account of the Easter story as seen through the eyes of a loveable pig, a faint-hearted horse, a pedantic rat, a rambling rooster, a motherly cow and a downtrodden donkey. Lion of Judah airs Easter Saturday evening at 7:00pm (AEST) or watch ON DEMAND on the app from April 3.
Series: The Chosen
The Chosen is the first-ever multi-season series about the life of Christ. Meet those closest to Jesus: a charismatic fisherman drowning in debt, a troubled woman wrestling with real demons, a gifted publican ostracised by his family and his people, and a religious leader struggling with his beliefs. See Jesus through the eyes of those who knew him. The Chosen is available to watch ON DEMAND
Epic: The Passion of the Christ
Focusing on the last twelve hours of the life of Jesus of Nazareth, the Mel Gibson masterpiece, The Passion of the Christ (starring Jim Caviezel), recounts in dramatic detail the Last Supper, the betrayal by Judas Iscariot and Jesus’ condemnation and crucifixion by the Pharisees. Airs Friday night at 9:50 pm (AEST) and on-demand from April 2. (Caution: rated MA).
Documentary: Jesus: Dead and Buried?
This documentary travels to Jerusalem to see the places where Jesus himself would have walked. Sifting through the evidence of Jesus’ life, death and resurrection it unpacks the reason that Jesus is called the ‘Lamb of God’. Find Jesus: Dead and Buried? on demand on the GOOD app after its April 4 airing.
Kids: Veggie Tales – An Easter Carol
Ebenezer Nezzer is out of control! Filling London with plastic Easter eggs, he’s on a rampage vowing to make Easter, ‘Bigger than ever!’ But just how hard can his mechanical chickens work before they’re…well, fried? Veggie Tales’ Easter Carol is on Easter Sunday afternoon at 4:00 pm (AEST) or watch now on the GOOD app.
