The Role: Treasurer
The Board Treasurer is a key role on volunteer Board of Directors. This pivotal role supports the Chair and CEO by ensuring sound governance and sound financials. The Treasurer establishes budget each year with the CEO and the oversees audits of the financial accounts.

Key Responsibilities
•Coordinate and provide financial reports an analysis to the Board and with the CEO prepare the annual budget and proficient with Xero
•Develop financial plans, forecast financial performance, and advise on funding and investment opportunities and trust accounting.
•Identify and mitigate financial risks and advise management on potential opportunities.
•Support onboarding of new board members and uphold the Board’s Code of Conduct
•Handling membership fees, in accordance with the constitution
•Preparing budgets for events, and providing financial updates to committees at meetings
•Prepare funding proposals for one-off grants, grants for special projects and sponsorship.
•Organise and securely store board records and documentation
•Ensure compliance with ACNC and ATO governance standards and liaise with external auditor
•Provide guidance on not-for-profit governance practices and policies in a faith-based context

Qualifications
•A Bachelor’s degree in finance, or accounting, professional certifications (CPA, MBA, or similar) and significant experience in financial management
•Excellent organisational and written communication skills
•Previous experience in board governance roles (experience in NFP sector desirable)
•Strong alignment with the mission to support families affected by domestic and family violence
•A willingness to serve with professionalism, compassion, and a commitment to confidentiality and good governance in a faith-based context.
