Board Secretary (Volunteer)

The Role: Board Secretary

We are currently seeking a Board Secretary to join our volunteer Board of Directors. This pivotal role supports the Chair and CEO by ensuring sound governance and smooth board operations. You will help strengthen our foundation as we grow and serve the Central Coast community.

Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate and schedule bi-monthly board meetings (held after hours on the Central Coast)
• Support onboarding of new board members and uphold the Board’s Code of Conduct
• Maintain the register of interests and track director terms
• Record accurate minutes and manage the approval process
• Organise and securely store board records and documentation
• Ensure compliance with ACNC and ATO governance standards
• Provide guidance on not-for-profit governance practices and policies

About You
• Excellent organisational and written communication skills
• Previous experience in board governance or secretarial roles (experience in NFP sector desirable)
• Strong alignment with the mission to support families affected by domestic and family violence
• A willingness to serve with professionalism, compassion, and a commitment to confidentiality and good governance
