Aussie in Ukraine Shares Million Month Mission

By: Laura Bennett

As war-weary communities across Europe and Ukraine cling to hope, Australian missionary Rachael Wilcox is stepping out in faith—partnering with churches and believers from around the globe for Million Month, a gospel outreach effort aiming to reach one million people in just 14 days.

“Million Month is an initiative [to] share the gospel with one million people through one-on-one evangelism in 30 cities across Europe,” missionary Rachael Wilcox said.

“At the same time, people are sharing and hearing the gospel in places like Paris, London, and Kyiv.”

For Rachael, the work is deeply personal

Now based in Kyiv, Ukraine, where she’s served for over two years, she sees first hand how faith is sustaining people in crisis.

“Even in the middle of war, God is restoring lives,” Rachael said.

“He’s saving souls and reclaiming hearts more now than ever.”

Rachael described daily life in Kyiv as unpredictable but grounded in resilience.

“There are air raids [but] you just do your best to go on with life,” Rachael said.

“People still get up, go to work, open their shops.

“In areas near the front lines, it’s far harder – people are just surviving – but many are turning to God.

“You have to pray for His peace and comfort.”

The vision for Million Month isn’t just about the two-week campaign but about cultivating a lifestyle of evangelism.

“We’re training people in discipleship and evangelism, so they’re equipped long after the event ends,” Rachael said.

Importantly, Million Month isn’t just for Europeans, with Rachael is calling on Aussies to join the movement in person or support through prayer.

“I’d love for Australians to come,” Rachael said.

“You won’t be alone – I’m an Aussie too!”

If you can’t come, “pray for Ukraine”.

“Pray for open hearts and God’s protection,” Rachael said.

“This is a historic moment… and when we unite in sharing the gospel, we’re stronger together.

“That’s the heart behind it all.”
